Currently, there is a slight ambiguity that I'd like clarification/explanation on to properly configure the LEDs to TEMP display on the fans.įor Example, on the temperature sensor drop down menu. The addition of lightning Layers allows for customization of Temperature on the various fans.

thanks Corsair. In the iCue Software, under the Lighting Effects menu > 8 LED Fans Series Fans. In trying to make my system a few db's quieter I made it significantly more noticable and burned up a few hours in the process.

Now I have the high pitched whine, and i never had any grinding before so overall the firmware update was a huge fail. Or does this seem normal? Haven't had any stability issues but after all the hassle w/ updating the firmware I want to get to the bottom of it. I'm guessing the h100i temp is the coolant temp? It occurs to me now that maybe my thermal pasting was sub-par and it's not getting good contact. My CPU creeps up to about 60C before the h100i temp starts to go up at all, so my fans stay spinning really slowly until the CPU starts to get *really* hot. Unfortunately the problem I was hoping to address by updating the firmware is still present, which is, Corsair Link is controlling my fans based on the "h100i temp" instead of the "intel temp". Atleast w/ Corsair Link 2.1.7, which is the first version I got to behave correctly and such stuck w/ it (2.2.0 might work as well, but i hadn't made this pivotal observation yet, obviously 2.1.1 doesn't work at all, despite Corsairs instruction that it does). Finally found this out after actually looking at the fans, there's some kind of reporting error, but my fan speeds were following my profile as expected. A little tip I noticed, even if Corsair Link reports the stock fans spinning at 1800 RPM, they can actually be spinning slower. I'd be better off with a leaf blower.Īfter much bandying about this morning after I (foolishly) updated the firmware on my h100i I finally got it to settle down a bit. Unfortunately this is my only cooler so I'll have to put up with this atleast a few days. The only thing we can do to push corsair to fix this (since they apparently don't read their own forums) is leave the product an appropriate rating from whatever vendor you got it from and RMA if possible. They've also cost Corsair their reputation, in my eyes.

I would be embarrassed if I was a software engineer who worked on this product, they shouldn't be allowed to work in this industry again because they're clearly in over their head.

So the official instructions, which are hidden, were not even tested ONCE before instructing all of their customers to follow them, Seriously? YOUR INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE PER YOUR OWN PATCH NOTES! 2.1.7 added support for the h100i/h80i but I need to use 2.1.1 to update the firmware on then? WHAT!? This is blowing my mind and this will be the last Corsair product I buy unless this gets sorted our REALLY quick, but judging from other users experiences I'm guessing not. WOW, 2.1.1 doesn't SUPPORT the h100i and the flash util doesn't list it as a product and crashes if you attempt the flash. Tried installing corsair link 2.1.1 to update the firmware as per this post -> (also, why was that info NOT on the main download page, where 99% of users will get the firmware?)

Now I HAVE to buy a fan controller to use a "premium" product THAT IS MOSTLY A FAN CONTROLLER!?!?! Well instead two of the fans run at 100% now (the stock ones) and the other two run at 400RPM (SP120 High Performance) no matter what. Was trying to get a nice balance of quiet operation under low load and appropriate cooling under high load.

I updated from the stock firmware to 1.0.4 because I noticed that corsair link was using my chassis temperature to control the fan speed and not the CPU temperature.
